Seapunk is regrouping in Chiang Mai this July — here’s what, where, when, and why
Ahoy Seapunks!
We’re regrouping in Chiang Mai this July 12-20, and calling it Seapunk Midsummer Studio (SMS).
Several activities planned — see overview below.
- Sci-fi workshop on July 12 (Sat)
- Pop-up studio sessions July 13-16 (possibly also 17-19)
- Secret salon on July 20 (Sun)
There’s also a Decolonizing SEA Studies conference at CMU the same week (July 17-19) which some of us will be attending during SMS week. Public registrations should be open for those interested.
Why are we doing this?
- Co-creating Seapunk’s next chapter(s) — it’s now nine months (and countless learnings + experiences) since Seapunk’s inaugural gathering last October, and we’re now about midway through Season One, with a very exciting few months ahead. SMS will be where we gather, recap, co-vision, strategize, design, and plan the next set of initiatives — and there’s lots of space and platform for all Seapunks interested in getting involved.
- It will be fun — Confer and un-confer, co-imagine, create something you’ve thought up but haven’t got to build out with friends, chill, explore, and celebrate seapunk hospitality. #IRLFTW
