Seapunk Studios is delighted to present Snow Society, a climate-agency-themed fictional world and house exhibition this 3-5 Oct in Bangkok, in conjunction with Bangkok Climate Action Week.

  1. A fictional world of weird snowy Seasian weather and institutional collapse, mushrooming with smallholder-led post-apocalyptic climate agency
  2. An imagined social organization playing a key catalytic support system role in helping their larger society adapt to strange new realities
  3. A visitable house exhibition in Bangkok this Oct 3-5 featuring a pop-up exhibition, climate-agency library, and thematic programming </aside>

Snow Society will be hosted in an old house and new community hub in southern Sathorn, Bangkok.

☃️ The World of Snow Society

Set in a not-so-distant future Seasia where climate change sometimes sees snow fall upon the paddies, Snow Society is a bustling world of smallholders, spirit-science-syncretized savvy, sovereignty stacks, mycelial supply chains, and strange new opportunities, that draws influences from bazaars, bioregions, beaings, batteries, and the Bright Ages.

🥦 A World of Wild Climate Agency

Snow Society is a Seapunk Studios imagined world-scale response to the question of climate agency in the context of Seasia and its contemporary predicaments.

Along our search for where the most interesting loci and frontiers of Seasian climate agency might be, we drew inspiration from the humble everyday entrepreneurs that proliferate across the region, many of them also themselves (unfazed) refugees and displacees from prior apocalypses who found ways to keep on punkin’ on. Snow Society imagines a world in which they have re-pioneered human ecology to levels much more dynamic than in hitherto peak-institutional ages. A world of wild climate agency.
